The death toll from Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon has risen to 492 people, including 35 children and 58 women, and wounded 1,645 people. Thousands of Lebanese fled the south, and the main highway out of the southern port city of Sidon was jammed with cars heading toward Beirut in the biggest exodus since 2006.

It's bad enough to tell residents of Gaza or the West Bank, who live under Israeli occupation, to evacuate—it's bad, it's unjust, it's a massive violation of human rights, but those territories are under Israeli, let's call it "governance." Lebanon OTOH is a sovereign country. gift link
